Marina at the Greek Theater

This show was a special one!

Not only was the energy in the room at Marina’s SOLD OUT Love + Fear Tour at The Greek Theatre just beyond electrifying and beautiful, I’ve been going to Marina concerts since I was 14, stood in GA lines for the best spot in the pit, and have dreamt of the day I would be able to be cover it. So let me fill you in a little:

Marina’s concerts have always been a safe space and a tribute to her fans. Split into two parts Love + Fear, she sprinkled in old favorites and intermixed them gracefully with the new, leaving the crowd constantly on their toes. With some songs even touching on the current state of the world and the things that we tend to overlook. Such as “To Be Human”, which was a beautiful and moving performance. Marina has stated that her Love + Fear album was created with the concept that "There are only two emotions: love and fear. All positive emotions come from love and all negative emotions from fear. From love flows happiness, contentment, peace and joy. From fear comes anger, hate, anxiety and guilt.” Although this show was filled with gorgeous eye-catching stage effects and choreography, as always, Marina’s music & performances were vulnerable and honest & that is what makes it stand out from the rest. - Larissa Raquel (photographer)
